A Culture that Matches Your Ambitions

A Culture that Matches Your Ambitions

For leaders who want strategy to become everyday practice: your strategy is clear and your people are committed, yet translating that ambition into everyday behaviour remains a challenge. You recognise the potential in your organisation, and the question is how to create the conditions for people to make the right decisions, collaborate across boundaries and take ownership every day. That is where culture makes the difference.

Culture is created in everyday practice

Culture is reflected in the way people work together, make decisions and respond to challenges. It is visible in the conversations people have, the behaviours they reward and the expectations they set for one another. While every organisation has developed its own habits over time, culture is not fixed: it evolves as people experience new ways of working, supported by leadership and an environment that reinforces the behaviours the organisation needs. That is why we look beyond individual behaviour alone, since sustainable change happens when people, leadership and the organisational environment reinforce one another.

Shaping the conditions for change

Creating a culture that supports strategy requires more than inspiring people. It requires creating the right conditions for success.

Together we explore three closely connected dimensions.

People

People bring knowledge, experience, strengths and beliefs. We help them develop the capabilities and behaviours that support the organisation’s ambitions.

Context

Leaders shape the environment in which people work every day. Through the way they communicate, make decisions, organise work, recognise success and create accountability, they influence which behaviours become the norm.

We also look at structures, processes and systems. When these support the desired direction, people find it easier to work in new ways and take ownership.

Patterns

Culture is also shaped by the interactions between people and teams. Patterns of collaboration, trust, feedback and decision-making influence how organisations respond to opportunities and challenges.

By making these patterns visible, organisations can consciously strengthen the behaviours that help them move forward. Patterns are the least visible driver of culture, and often the most powerful.

Understanding before designing

Every organisation has its own ambitions, history and way of working. That is why we never start with a standard culture programme.

We begin by understanding your organisation. Through conversations, observations and existing organisational insights, we explore what already works well, where opportunities exist and what will help your strategy succeed.

From there, we design an approach that fits your organisation, not a generic model. Whether the answer lies in leadership development, team development, new ways of collaborating or experiential interventions, every recommendation is grounded in your context and ambitions.

“The programme gave me the ability to hear what’s actually happening underneath a conversation, not just what’s being said on the surface. That has changed how I lead my teams in the moments that matter.” – Leadership programme participant

Istimewa
“For the first time, it was clear what we stand for, and that gave me direction I’d been looking for for a long time.” – Employee, following an internal culture and values programme

TU Delft
“Ask a room what they will do differently, and most people say the same thing: listen more. Not process more, or align more, but listen more. That is where behaviour change starts, and this faculty week set that in motion for us.” – Participant Faculty Week, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering

Novartis
“Just about this program, what I really loved is the action learning. Really, the opportunity to participate in case studies and behave like you should behave in a real life situation, I think lends itself nicely for the skill sets that we need to develop.” – Senior HR business partner

What we do

At InContext, we help organisations connect strategy, leadership and culture. Together, we create an environment in which the desired behaviour is encouraged, supported and sustained. Because culture is not something an organisation simply has, it is something leaders that is shaped every day through the choices that are made make, the conversations that are encouraged and the systems that are created.
