Breaking Down Silos

Breaking Down Silos

One organisation. Not several teams pulling in different directions.
The smarter and more specialised your people get, the harder it is for them to work as one business. We help leaders in healthcare, pharma, and high-tech fix that, whatever it takes.

Everyone understands the strategy, but they still don’t work together

Deep expertise makes your organisation excellent. It also makes it hard for teams to work together. In pharma, most departments still work alone, even the best-connected ones. In healthcare, silos are the top reason good plans stall. Across industries, poor teamwork costs 5 to 10 percent of revenue every year. For a company with €100 million in revenue, that’s a loss of several million euros every year.

You shouldn’t have to choose between deep expertise and people working well together. Adding another process won’t fix it: this usually isn’t a wiring problem. You may already have good teams: people who trust each other, speak openly, and take ownership. However, good teams don’t automatically make one great company. That only happens when people across teams really listen to each other and trust each other enough to voice what’s actually going on and take responsibility for the whole system together.

How we understand your situation

We don’t sell one fix. We build the one that matches yours. That’s the belief InContext was built on: real change is personal, not just structural, and it asks people to leave their comfort zone together.

ASML: built a business simulation. People still use it, years later.

BioConnection: built new leadership habits and clearer ownership across management.

Erasmus MC: helped leaders challenge old assumptions about who decides what.

Istimewa: used their own survey data, and let people inside the business own the fix themselves.

Four companies. Four different fixes. Same result: people across teams working as one.

How we understand your situation

How we work

Find it – We map how your business really works: how different teams have different perspectives, how real information is not shared and the patterns and habits that perpetuate problems. The real problem is rarely where the org chart says it is.

Fix it – We build the right fix around what we find: a business simulation, leadership development, structured conversations between teams, or something completely new. Never the same fix twice.

Keep it – We leave you with a shared understanding, as well as the tools and habits that keep it alive.

Proof

ASML “With ASML being such a large organisation, it’s very easy to lose sight of the big picture. The simulation allowed me to see how one decision can cascade throughout the entire company.” – SLAM business simulation participant

Erasmus MC “The programme gave me something most leadership development doesn’t: the ability to hear what’s actually happening underneath a conversation, not just what’s being said on the surface. That distinction between the surface and the undercurrent has changed how I lead my teams in the moments that matter.” – Leadership programme participant

Istimewa “For the first time, it was clear what we stand for and that gave me direction I’d been looking for for a long time.” – Employee, following an internal culture and values workshop

What happens if nothing changes?

A year from now: your R&D lead knows exactly what her decisions cost the Operations team, and says so before it’s a problem. Your Sales lead understands why the engineers pushed back, instead of assuming they’re being difficult. People raise problems early, because they trust someone will listen. They think end-to-end and act accordingly within and across their functions.
