Effectively bringing together teams from diverse cultures and countries can be a complex task, especially when long-standing employees struggle to adapt to new colleagues.

Effectively bringing together teams from diverse cultures and countries can be a complex task, especially when long-standing employees struggle to adapt to new colleagues. This was the case at Planon, an international software company specialising in real estate and facility management. The company faced challenges related to self-organisation, ownership, continuous improvement, employee retention, and customer focus.

Our Approach

There was an urgent need to address these challenges, and in collaboration with InContext, action was taken. Through interviews with managers, internal clients, and employees, a clear understanding of the situation and the specific needs of the company was developed, resulting in the creation of a comprehensive training programme.

A Comprehensive Training Programme as the Solution

The programme consisted of three modules, each with two sessions. Each session was delivered online, allowing participants to join easily from home. The training programme covered topics such as self-organisation, ownership, continuous improvement, employee retention, job satisfaction, customer focus, and effective communication across diverse cultural backgrounds.

The training programme delivered exceptionally positive results. Participants reported that they got to know their colleagues better and gained deeper insights into their diverse perspectives. The training fostered a culture of openness and led to higher team commitment and ambition to achieve shared goals. Additionally, the programme aligned seamlessly with the SCRUM methodology, enabling faster implementation and active contributions to improvement points. It also encouraged discussions between sessions, resulting in a stronger focus on customer satisfaction and enhanced service delivery.
